Construction industry trends in South Africa are reportedly showing signs of recovery with retail and residential buildings at the forefront of the resurgence. But will the growth envisaged by aggregate and sand suppliers be enough to outstrip their 2014 production figures?
"Investments in retail and residential building projects in South Africa are surely a cause for optimism for the aggregate and sand industry,” says Quarry Southern Africa editor Munesu Shoko.
“However, as the industry continues to witness major growth in size and capacity, and as long as the large infrastructure projects continue to be a pipe dream, the industry will have to bear the brunt of excess capacity."
